2024 Oklahoma NARO Convention - "A Capital Affair"

Join us as we celebrate the resilience of Oklahoma’s rich oil and gas history while learning about the issues that matter most to our members. Enjoy delicious Southwestern cuisine and breathtaking views of downtown Oklahoma City, all while learning about a host of educational topics designed specifically for Oklahoma mineral and royalty owners.

We kick things off Wednesday, May 22nd with our "Lunch and Learn" field trip. This year we will be dining at the world famous Junior's (limited to 40 people), followed by a guided tour of the Oklahoma State Capitol where our members will learn about art, history and government, all from "The People's House." If you haven't visited the Capitol since the recent complete restoration, it's definitely worth the trip. Transportation is provided.

Later that evening, we are hosting a welcoming reception along with the Royalty Owner Coalition of Oklahoma and members of the 59th Oklahoma Legislative Session as we approach the "Sine Die" deadline. Complimentary cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and live music from Oklahoma legend Mike Hosty, all from the historic Venetian Room located on the 14th floor will make this an evening you won't want to miss!

Thursday morning, we begin our General Session in the Grand Ballroom, which will include updates on pending legislation, leasing and drilling activity and concurrent afternoon educational sessions offering basic and advanced topics. We will conclude the day with the always popular Expert Legal Panel followed by our Wildcatter's Reception located in the exhibitor's area.

That same evening, we have another outing planned - our annual "Night at the Ballpark," Enjoy complimentary beer, soft drinks and all you can eat BBQ while taking in a baseball game from one of the nicest minor league ballparks in the U.S. This is a very fun way to meet, learn and network with other members.

Friday morning we have more educational sessions planned, and we will conclude the day with our Keynote Luncheon in the Grand Ballroom featuring a delicious lunch prepared by the Skirvin staff and hear from this year's special guest speaker!

You won't want to miss the 2024 Oklahoma NARO Convention! It truly will be "A Capital Affair." Special "Early Bird" pricing ends April 21st, so book your reservations today!

    2024 Rocky Mountain NARO Convention

    June 13th & 14th

We are happy to announce our 2024 convention that

will feature both in person and virtual attendance.

Partner with the Rocky Mountain NARO

The National Association of Royalty Owners – Rocky Mountain Chapter is dedicated to the education of mineral and royalty owners across the rocky mountain region including Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and New Mexico.  We’re planning an amazing program for our annual convention.  Mineral Rights and Royalty owners are the “landlords” of the domestic oil and gas industry across much of the United States and play a critical role in the development of these vital assets.  NARO is their support network and the mission of the organization is to support, advocate, and educate for the empowerment of mineral and royalty owners.  Your business can help support and expand our membership’s depth of knowledge so that we can all build a better energy future for our country.  We hope that you’ll join NARO in supporting these important efforts.

    Rob Prentice

    Rocky Mountain Chapter President

    Convention Details

Important instructions and reminders for taking the RMM Exams.   Please Read!

    Do Bring:

    • A calculator. Many Exam questions will require it and calculators are NOT provided.
    • Two sharp pencils and scratch paper. There will likely be some on hand, but I wouldn't risk not having one, and you shouldn't either.

You will be asked to put away:

    • Cell phones/tablets/laptops. I cannot stress this enough. You may not use your cell phone or tablet as a calculator. You may NOT have your cell phone or tablet out during Exams. Noncompliance will result in being asked to leave the Exam and your candidacy as an RMM will be reviewed. No exceptions.
    • Study resources. This is a CLOSED book Exam. You are not permitted to have anything other than scratch paper and your Exam out.

    Some other helpful info:

    Exam time allotted - 1 1/2 hours - 90 Minutes

Approval from the Registrar is needed to register and sit for the RMM Exam.

The Mineral Management Review Courses is a four (4) hour course and the fee is $75. The course is offered multiple times during the year to individuals participating in the Mineral Management Program (MMP). The Mineral Management Review Course is elective to the program, although most MMP participants choose to attend at some point. 4 Educational Credits (ECs) will be given for attendance of this course.

The course is also available to audit for NARO Members not currently enrolled in the MMP. Those that intend to audit this course must pre-register and pay the $75 fee to attend. Auditing this Course will not enroll you in the Mineral Management program.

Additionally, it does not include registration for any NARO Convention, or vice versa.

The Review Course is elective to the program, although most participants choose to attend at some point.

The NARO Foundation has updated their policy on the Review Course Manual.  The manual no longer is included with the price of the course, and must be purchased separately. You can call the national office to purchase one over the phone, 918-794-1660.  The manual is not required for the course, but is a workbook format that is used during the class and contains practice exams that are worked on in class.

We are dedicated to the education of mineral and royalty owners and are planning an incredible program for our annual convention.  The energy business is No. 1 with a long history of fueling the economics of our great Nation.  Royalty owners are charged with responsible development of their minerals while working with industry partners and operators.  NARO is their support system when needed.  Your business presence and the royalty owners’ depth of knowledge is critical to building a better energy future.  We hope you’ll join NARO in supporting these efforts.  Thank you!
